Tierra Patagonia calls itself an “adventure spa,” offering plenty of opportunities for adventure in the mountains, pampas, ranches, glaciers, lakes, and waterfalls of Patagonia—as well as state-of-the art spa facilities so that you can relax at the end of an active day. Guests may choose from a wide range of half-day and full-day small-group excursions that cater to many interests and fitness levels, and guides are on hand to help you create an itinerary that makes the most of your stay. Excursions can often be tailored if a guest is interested in a particular hike or horseback-riding trail.

Half-day walks or full-day hikes for all fitness levels bring you to incredible viewpoints and natural wonders. Take an easy walk to Lake Sarmiento to learn about its unusual life forms, or hike up a less-traveled path for a breathtaking vista of the Cuernos del Paine mountains. Follow trails to waterfalls or cave paintings, trace the shores of turquoise lakes, and climb to a lookout to see a glacier from above.
Saddle up with local gauchos and set off across the pampas or through thick lenga forests on a half-day ride. Chaps and helmets are provided.
Join a guide to explore the region by four-wheel-drive vehicle on a variety of spectacular drives. Look for wildlife in remote valleys, encounter the gushing cascades of Salto Grande, visit iceberg-strewn lakes, and reach parts of the park off limits to the general public.
Visit a nearby estancia, or ranch, to meet gauchos and watch them at work, herding, branding, and shearing their sheep (depending on the season). Tour the ranch and learn about everyday life in Patagonia.
Tierra Patagonia's chef uses local products like seafood from the Straits of Magellan, lamb and beef from neighboring ranches, as well as native Calafate berries to prepare healthy, delicious meals. Guests can also experience a traditional Patagonian asado, in which a lamb is slow cooked over coals. Asados played an important part in the lives of the early settlers and remain popular for local residents today. The restaurant and bar offer an extensive menu of Chilean wines, artisan beers, and classic cocktails.
An integral part of the hotel is the Uma Spa, a beautifully designed, tranquil space that offers a steam bath, sauna, heated indoor pool, hydro massage, outdoor Jacuzzi, and locker rooms with lush towels and robes. Treatments include all types of massages and facials using local elements, stones, and water. This is a relaxation of all the senses: imagine yourself soaking in the heated indoor pool looking out at majestic views of the very mountains you’ve just finished hiking.
