How to Get There

The closest airport is John Wayne Airport in Orange County, located about 30 minutes away. From Los Angeles International Airport, it’s about one hour and thirty minutes to the lodge by car, and from San Diego International Airport, it’s about one hour and fifteen minutes. The lodge provides detailed driving directions for each route. Airport transfers and car rentals can also be arranged at an additional cost.

What to Expect

Accommodations and facilities at the ranch are linked by paved footpaths, and the lodge provides a complimentary shuttle to Aliso Beach. The nearest hospital is in Laguna Beach. Canyon rooms with wheelchair access are available, and ADA hearing accessible rooms are also available upon request. All rooms come equipped with telephones and complimentary Wi-fi.

Weather and Seasons

Southern California is renowned for its mild year-round climate, with daytime temperatures typically reaching into the mid-60s in the winter months and the low 80s in the summer months. December is the coolest month, with August usually being the warmest. January, February, and March receive the most rainfall, with an average of 2.5 inches.

What to Bring

There is no dress code at the lodge and guests are encouraged to dress casually and comfortably. Bring lightweight active wear and sturdy shoes for hiking, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities, as well as golf clubs and golf gear if you plan to use the lodge’s course (golf equipment rentals are also available). Swimsuits and water shoes or sandals are recommended for the pool and the beaches. Guests should also bring sun hats and plenty of sunscreen.

Traveling with Family

From weekly game nights on the patio to drop-in family golf clinics on weekends, the lodge hosts an array of family-friendly activities throughout the week. During summer, the popular Kids Night Out on Saturday evenings (additional cost) lets kids make new friends while giving parents an opportunity to enjoy dinner and free time on their own. During the summer, kids are invited to take part in a Junior Rangers Program, which features guided interactive workshops focused on wildlife, sustainability, and appreciation of nature’s wonders.

There is no additional charge for children as long as they don’t exceed the maximum occupancy of a room. Rates are per accommodation, not per person. Childcare is also available upon request at an additional charge.
