Things to Do

The following experiences are included in the cost of your stay.

Horseback Riding

The Siwash Synergy with Horses program is the ranch’s signature experience, and guests are matched with a mount that is handpicked to suit their skills and attributes. Enjoy personal instruction provided by expert guides, and embark on trail rides customized to your unique preferences and ability. Skilled riders can walk, trot, or gallop across the surrounding grasslands and forests on their own, freely exploring British Columbia’s rugged landscapes. Full-day horseback safaris are offered, as well as lessons in rodeo events.

Fly-Fishing

Wade in the ranch’s pond to catch (and release) rainbow trout. You can also set out into the wild with an angling guide to cast your line in one of the many nearby rivers or stunning Crater Lake.

Hiking and Mountain Biking

The ranch’s horse trails double as hiking and mountain-biking paths. With more than 60 miles of trails of varying lengths and difficulty—and river canyons, rocky bluffs, meadows, and woods to trek or pedal through—there are numerous ways to discover the countryside by bike or on foot.

Wildlife Walks

Join a resident naturalist to explore the area's diverse ecosystems, from wetlands and aquatic zones to grasslands and forests.

Water Sports

Navigate Lake Siwash in a variety of ways: paddle a kayak, canoe, rowboat, or stand-up paddleboard; or cool off with a refreshing swim.

Target Sports

Sharpen your aim through a variety of target sports: fixed and animated target shooting, skeet, and archery.

Wilderness Survival

Learn the basics of surviving in the backwoods during a half-day training trip. Build a natural shelter, light a campfire using a bow drill, and forage for food and water.

Outdoor Yoga

Practice yoga while immersed in the inspiring and soothing scenery of the British Columbia wilderness.

Optional Activities and Experiences

The following experiences are offered at an additional cost.

Helicopter Adventures

Soar above British Columbia’s vast wilderness on a custom helicopter adventure, selecting your own stops along the journey. For example, you might choose to go for a hike in high alpine mountains, picnic alongside a remote river at Lone Cabin Creek, or pan for gold.

Boating

During July and August, guests can spend a day on a speedboat. Go waterskiing, knee-boarding, or tubing across the pristine waters of a nearby lake, and stop for a picnic lunch on shore.

Spa Treatments

Relax and rejuvenate while enjoying the holistic treatments offered in the luxurious spa tent.

Food and Drink

The Executive Chef’s exquisite pasture-to-plate cuisine is inspired by the ranch and its natural surroundings. Gourmet dishes are created using homegrown ingredients harvested on the farm and in the organic garden. Bendig and his kitchen staff regularly forage the surrounding woodlands for wild herbs and berries, and they make it their mission to employ these gathered edibles in every meal. Meals are served in the fine-dining room, on the sundeck, or on a candlelit table in a lakeside meadow. Gourmet picnics can also be packed for guests to enjoy while out on their daily adventures.
