Day 1—Arrive Lake Nicaragua, Nicaragua

Arrive at the lodge by boat, and enjoy a welcome drink and tour around the island. Get settled in your private casita, relax by the infinity pool, and head to the deck to soak up the lake’s stillness. Or, if you’re feeling energetic, take to the water on a kayak or stand-up paddle board. Later, sip a fruity cocktail and climb the observation tower for panoramic views as the sun dips below the Mombacho Volcano.

Day 2—Hiking and Hot Springs

Wake up with fresh coffee and bread on your balcony and sun salutations during a lakeside yoga session. Take a short boat ride to the foot of the Mombacho Volcano, then set out on a guided hike through La Calera Natural Reserve. Stop for a picnic lunch on the grounds of a plantain and cacao plantation, then step into the house of a local farmer for a taste of freshly fried plantains. Return to the lodge and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3—Old Town Granada

After breakfast and an optional yoga session along the lake, go on a guided excursion to picturesque Granada. Learn about Nicaragua’s Spanish-colonial past as you stroll cobbled streets past atmospheric markets and parks, and admire indigenous ceramics and impressive Zapatera statues at the San Francisco Church and Museum. This afternoon, grab a net and catch dinner with the help of a local fisherman.

Day 4—Land of Lakes and Volcanoes

Rise early to catch the sunrise from a kayak on glassy Lake Nicaragua. Later, set out on a thrilling sandboarding excursion down the slopes of the Momotombo Volcano, or hike through the lush cloud forests of the Mombacho Volcano Natural Reserve. Or just spend the day relaxing in the saltwater pool or indulging in a hot-stone treatment or massage at the spa. This evening, peer over the edge of a lava-filled volcanic crater on a guided night tour of Masaya Volcano National Park.

Day 5—Depart

After breakfast, board a boat bound for the Asese Port outside of Granada. Transfer to the airport for your flight home, or continue to your next destination.
