Jicaro Island Lodge: Accommodations

Located in Lake Nicaragua, Nicaragua

Designed to evoke a modern, tropical tree house, each of the lodge’s nine two-story casitas rises into the lush jungle canopy of Jicaro Island. Private terraces are suspended among the foliage, strung with oversized hammocks and outfitted with comfortable lounge furniture that invite guests to take in the life of the forest, as well as views across Lake Nicaragua. The casitas and their furnishings were constructed with local wood salvaged during the cleanup after Hurricane Felix. Ceiling fans combine with cross ventilation to eliminate the need for air conditioning.
