Tierra Patagonia Hotel & Spa: Plan Your Stay

Located in Patagonia, Chile

How to Get There

LAN Chile, LAN Express, and Sky Airline operate several daily flights from Santiago, Chile’s capital, to Punta Arenas, the nearest large airport. The flight takes approximately four hours. It is also possible to charter a private plane or helicopter to fly from Santiago to Punta Arenas or Puerto Natales. Transfers from the airport to the hotel take four to four and a half hours. A regular, scheduled transfer service with other guests is included in the rate.

For those arriving from Argentina, the hotel is a 45-minute ride from the border crossing at Cerro Castillo and five hours from El Calafate. Transfers to the hotel are included with four-night stays and can be arranged for other lengths of stay.

Weather and Seasons

Tierra Patagonia is open from the beginning of spring (in the Southern Hemisphere) until the end of autumn and closed during the winter months (May through September). The weather in Patagonia is constantly changing, so pack for all temperatures and precipitations! Often all four seasons can be experienced in one day. Strong winds that blow from the Southern Ice Field characterize the summer months (December to February).

Temperatures typically range as follows:

Season Average Temperature
December-March (Summer):  7°C/45°F to 19°C/66°F
March-June (Fall):  1°C/34°F to 7°C/45°F
June-September (Winter):         The lodge is closed from May-August.
