A Closer Look at Our Collection

Photographer Ami Vitale spent time on assignment in northern Kenya this year, photographing orphaned elephants and their caretakers at the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary on the Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy, a protected reserve in the Mathews Range owned by the Samburu people. Ami set up her base in the conservancy at Sarara Camp, a National Geographic Unique Lodge that is deeply involved in helping the local community kick start this grassroots conservation project. Efforts like these have helped return wildlife to the region, which is once again home to Kenya’s second largest elephant population—and they’ve also created sustainable economic opportunities for the Samburu. Ami introduces us to this beautiful and inspiring corner of Africa in the video below.

Our lodges are putting a new spin on summer vacation, offering incredible experiences that go beyond your typical beach or camping trip. Whether you want to practice falconry in the Irish countryside or go below the equator to see South Africa’s Cape Floral Kingdom in bloom, the properties in our collection will have you celebrating summer in some of the most unique ways possible.

Picture yourself soaking in a sublime infinity pool surrounded by the majestic landscapes of Patagonia or practicing yoga with views of beautiful monasteries in Bhutan. An integral part of a great travel experience is the opportunity to relax, rejuvenate, and restore, and many of our lodges offer world-class wellness services in spectacular settings.
